Welcome
We've developed this newsletter / website for two purposes. First, we’d like to provide a reliable resource for funeral and cemetery business owners who may be considering succession planning and, more specifically, selling their firms. Second, we want to share SCI’s approach to acquisitions and how it may be a fit for you and your team.
Periodically, the following sections will be updated:
Former Owner Spotlight - an interview with a business owner who recently sold their company to us.
Acquisition Performance - an overview of an acquisition 1-2 years ago to show what does and doesn't happen when we acquire businesses.
InSCIghts - highlights of SCI community involvement, providing a sense for our values and culture.
Acumen - insights and invaluable information related to transitioning out of ownership. It's helpful whether you are considering a sale today or even years from now.
NOTE: Previous articles in the first two categories can be found in Archives.

Partnerships
Our company remains active partnering with what we feel are the best quality businesses in our profession. Since 2010, we have invested over $650M (excluding Keystone and Stewart) partnering with individual business owners and providing them a beneficial succession plan. We are proud of our track record and the list of owners that have chosen us as their partner. We would be happy to share that list with anyone who would like to understand, firsthand, others’ experience working with SCI.
We're pleased and proud to have these fine firms join the SCI family in 2019:
We are proud that each of these exceptional business owners trusted our company with their family legacy. We're also humbled by this responsibility and have worked diligently to ensure a smooth transition for each location and their staff and client families. Feel free to contact us to learn more.

We're pleased and proud to have these fine firms join the SCI family in 2019:
- QUEBEC, CANADA - Residence Funéraire St. Louis joined our network in January. The former owner will continue in his role and help with the integration of the two locations in Terrebonne and Mascouche.
- OHIO - Anderson Funeral Homes, with three funeral home locations in Franklin, Springboro and Middleton, as well as a separate Life Celebration Center in Franklin, partnered with us in February. Charles Anderson will continue his daily involvement and leadership of the firms, as will his daughter, Rebekah.
- NEW JERSEY - Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home joined the SCI family in April. Jacob Krowicki will stay for a short period to help transition the business, but at 80+ y.o., he wants to enjoy more time with family and spend time at his condo in Florida.
